Innovations on show

What young minds are building

Last year, students from across Meru and Tharaka-Nithi turned everyday problems into working prototypes — from smart farming gadgets to mobile-first learning tools. This year's bootcamp doubles down on the themes our region cares about most.

Smart Agriculture

Sensor-driven irrigation, pest alerts via SMS, low-cost soil testers — built for smallholder realities.

Mobile-First EdTech

Offline-friendly learning apps and revision tools that work on the phones students actually own.

Climate & Water

Rain harvesting telemetry, simple water purification, and air-quality monitors for our towns.

Health & Safety

Maternal-health reminders, ambulance dispatch helpers, and emergency alert wearables.

Renewable Energy

DIY solar dryers, micro-inverters, and energy meters that put data in the hands of households.

Civic Tech

Reporting tools for school issues, market price boards, and county service trackers.

Sports Innovations

Athlete performance trackers, safer training gear, team analytics, and inclusive games that keep learners active.

Two simple fees to know:
  • Extra student — KES 300 per learner. For students who just want to attend and learn (no project). Selected presenters are already fully covered.
  • Extra exhibit table — KES 500 per project. Only if your school wasn't selected but still wants to showcase a project on the day. Each table includes a power point and a mentor walk-through. (You only pay this once per project, not per student on that project.)

Learners from your school whose project was selected to present. Their participation is fully funded. Type the number (e.g. 5). Leave empty if none.

Additional learners coming to learn and join the hands-on program (not just watching) — mentor sessions, demos and workshops on event day. Example: a class of 30 would be 30. Leave empty if none.

Total attending: 0

Any innovation that was not selected but you'd still like to showcase and compete on the day. Selected schools can also add more projects here. Count projects, not students — one project = one table. Leave empty if none.

Selected-student certificates
Fully funded

0 free certificates included.

✓ Selected students present innovations and receive free certificates. Extra students attend to learn (KES 300 entry) and may optionally buy certificates at KES 50.
