What young minds are building
Last year, students from across Meru and Tharaka-Nithi turned everyday problems into working prototypes — from smart farming gadgets to mobile-first learning tools. This year's bootcamp doubles down on the themes our region cares about most.
Sensor-driven irrigation, pest alerts via SMS, low-cost soil testers — built for smallholder realities.
Offline-friendly learning apps and revision tools that work on the phones students actually own.
Rain harvesting telemetry, simple water purification, and air-quality monitors for our towns.
Maternal-health reminders, ambulance dispatch helpers, and emergency alert wearables.
DIY solar dryers, micro-inverters, and energy meters that put data in the hands of households.
Reporting tools for school issues, market price boards, and county service trackers.
Athlete performance trackers, safer training gear, team analytics, and inclusive games that keep learners active.
- Extra student — KES 300 per learner. For students who just want to attend and learn (no project). Selected presenters are already fully covered.
- Extra exhibit table — KES 500 per project. Only if your school wasn't selected but still wants to showcase a project on the day. Each table includes a power point and a mentor walk-through. (You only pay this once per project, not per student on that project.)
